The project transformed a former fashion store into a 2,000-square-metre sports retail space during a 13-week refurbishment. Materials from the existing building were reused wherever possible, including timber from the original structure, while other elements incorporated high levels of recycled content. Together, these materials are estimated to store around 5 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. Existing structural columns and shelving from the previous fit-out were also retained and given new uses.

The refurbishment included several measures to reduce energy use, such as variable refrigerant flow systems for heating and cooling, Blue Angel-certified flooring, LED lighting and low-energy digital displays.

The project was selected from 122 entries from 30 countries in the 2026 edition of the EuroShop RetailDesign Award, organised annually by the EHI Retail Institute and Messe Düsseldorf.
