Presented on 24 June 2026, this twelfth omnibus simplification proposal amends the EU's Energy Labelling and Tyre Labelling Regulations, aiming to reduce compliance costs for suppliers and retailers while keeping consumers informed at the point of sale.

The proposal simplifies how labels are updated when energy ratings are rescaled, clarifies the responsibilities of representatives of non-EU manufacturers, and makes greater use of digital tools such as the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL). The Commission estimates savings of around €125 million per year for businesses and market surveillance authorities over the next decade.
