The European Commission has launched a Call for Expressions of Interest to attract private investments in the Western Balkans, with the goal of enhancing sustainable tourism, green transition, and sustainable transport, among other economic sectors, in the region.

The European Commission has initiated a Call for Expressions of Interest to encourage private investment in the Western Balkans, targeting enhancements in green and digital transitions, sustainable transport, tourism, and other sectors within the region. Private enterprises, joint ventures, or consortia from the EU, EEA, and Western Balkans are invited to submit investment project proposals by 21 May 2025. Eligible initiatives must have a minimum value of EUR 10 million and include at least 15% equity or own resources. Selected projects may receive policy, technical, or financial support from the European Commission.
