TAIEX is needs-driven and delivers tailored expertise promptly through three primary methods:

  1. Workshops: Experts from EU Member States present specific areas of EU legislation to a large audience of beneficiary officials.
  2. Expert Missions: Experts are sent to beneficiary administrations to provide detailed advice on transposing, implementing, or enforcing specific EU legislation.
  3. Study Visits: Groups of practitioners from beneficiary administrations visit an EU Member State’s administration to gain practical insights.

TAIEX provides assistance to:

  • Candidate and potential candidate countries: Türkiye, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo.
  • Turkish Cypriot community: In the northern part of Cyprus.
  • Neighbourhood countries: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, and Ukraine.
  • Countries under the Partnership Instrument.
  • EU Member States: For administrative cooperation with DG Regional and Urban Policy, DG Environment, and DG Structural Reform Support.
  • Partner countries: Covered by the Directorate-General for International Partnerships.

TAIEX assistance is available to:

  1. Civil servants in central public administrations
  2. Judiciary and law enforcement authorities
  3. Civil servants in Parliaments and Legislative Councils
  4. Representatives of social partners, trade unions, and employers' associations

TAIEX does not support civil society, private citizens, or individual companies directly. The application process involves completing the TAIEX Application Form.

Matching experts with needs

Public officials from EU Member States with relevant expertise can register as TAIEX experts or institutional contact points. TAIEX experts may be invited to serve as speakers at seminars, workshops, and expert missions, or to host study visits that align with their specific areas of expertise. Institutional contact points act as voluntary, ad hoc reference points within their organizations, assisting in the identification and nomination of suitable experts.

For more information, interested public officials can refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for TAIEX experts.
