Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 highlighted the growing integration of sustainability into fashion design, textile innovation and production processes. Key developments included textile-to-textile recycling, lower-impact printing technologies and renewed attention to ocean conservation and animal welfare. These examples point to an industry increasingly exploring how environmental considerations can inform both creative decisions and material development.

The Spring/Summer 2027 edition of Paris Fashion Week, held from 28 September to 6 October 2026, offered several notable examples of how sustainability is being incorporated into contemporary fashion.
One significant development was the application of textile-to-textile recycling to luxury and designer garments.
Antwerp-based designer Florentina Leitner presented denim and satin pieces incorporating Circ Lyocell, a regenerated cellulosic fibre produced from recycled polycotton waste. The denim garments contained 40% recycled textile content, while the satin pieces incorporated 30%, demonstrating the potential to bring recycled materials into different product categories without compromising creative expression.
Technological innovation also featured prominently. ANREALAGE's Spring/Summer 2027 collection incorporated fabrics printed using Kyocera's FOREARTH inkjet technology, which is designed to reduce water consumption in textile printing. The collaboration illustrates how production technologies can contribute to improving resource efficiency at the manufacturing stage.
Meanwhile, Stella McCartney placed ocean conservation and animal welfare at the centre of her collection, combining marine-inspired designs with recycled and organic materials, algae-based pigment and alternatives to conventional animal-derived fibres. Her presentation also coincided with the launch of the Climate Pledge Fashion Coalition, an initiative bringing together more than 60 industry signatories to accelerate the adoption of lower-carbon materials and supply chains.
