On 18 March, the Fábrica de Santo Thyrso will host the final results dissemination event of the GIATEX project, an initiative that brought together entities from the scientific and technological system and companies from the textile value chain with the aim of developing innovative solutions for more sustainable finishing processes.
During the session, the project consortium will present the main achievements obtained throughout its implementation, highlighting technological developments focused on the optimisation of industrial processes with an emphasis on reducing water consumption, a critical factor for the sector's competitiveness and sustainability.
Advanced effluent treatment solutions and sensorisation systems designed to enable water monitoring and reuse will also be showcased, supporting more efficient water resource management and significantly reducing the environmental impact associated with textile finishing operations.
The results achieved under GIATEX represent a relevant contribution to the transformation of finishing processes in the Portuguese textile industry, reinforcing the sector's commitment to technological innovation, circularity, and the transition towards more sustainable production models.
The event will provide an opportunity for knowledge sharing and practical demonstration of the advances achieved, bringing together companies, researchers, and key industry stakeholders. Further information regarding the programme and registration will be made available through the official communication channels of CITEVE and the GIATEX project.
