How can artificial intelligence create real value in industrial practice? This question is at the centre of the final event of the WIRKsam competence centre, which will take place on 8 September 2026 at euronova Campus in Hürth

Under the motto “WIRKsam shaping change – AI for the work of tomorrow”, the event will look back on five years of collaboration and open the next chapter through the future WIRKsam competence network. The programme is designed around practical experience, transfer of knowledge and exchange between research and industry.

Participants will gain insights into how AI can support employees, improve production processes and contribute to future oriented workplaces. The programme includes a keynote on the opportunities and practical relevance of AI in the Rhenish region, presentations on project results and fields of action, perspectives for transfer into practice, and an open marketplace with demonstrators, service offers and project insights.

A particular strength of the event is its close connection to industrial practice. The WIRKsam project has worked with eleven companies in the Rhenish region to develop concrete approaches for knowledge transfer, quality improvement and more flexible process planning. The final event therefore offers not only discussion, but also direct insight into tested applications and transferable experience.

For organisations interested in AI adoption, transformation of industrial work or applied collaboration between research and practice, the event offers a focused opportunity to explore how these topics are already being addressed in real company contexts.
