Cities have a key role in circular textiles
Textiles are part of everyday life, but textile consumption and waste have a major environmental impact. The EU generates around 7 million tonnes of textile waste every year, and only 12% is collected separately.
Cities can help change this. They manage local waste systems, work directly with citizens and bring together reuse, repair, collection, sorting and recycling actors
A webinar on practical circular action
On 2 June 2026, from 10am to 11.30am CEST, the Circular City Centre - C3 will host an online webinar on how cities can support circularity in the textiles value chain.
The session will look at the main challenges and opportunities for circular textiles. It will also present good practices showing how cities and other stakeholders can take action.
What participants will learn
The webinar will cover current and future EU policy developments on textiles and explain how they may affect circular textile systems.
It will also show how C3’s advisory programmes can support cities and regions that want to turn circular economy plans into concrete projects.
About the organiser
Circular City Centre - C3 is led by the European Investment Bank and co-funded by the European Commission as part of the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative. It supports EU cities and regions in developing circular economy strategies, projects and pathways to financing and implementation.
