On 13 April 2026 at 11 am CET, The Centre for Sustainable Design at the UCA will host a free webinar in collaboration with the British Standards Institution, ‘Navigating the ESPR: what it means for fashion, textiles and SMEs.’ The event will cover the latest Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) developments and key insights for SMEs and important players in the European Union’s textile industry.
The webinar, funded by the European Union, is part of the EU Just Fashion project, which aims at accelerating the climate transition in the fashion industry by providing businesses with adequate tools and transition frameworks towards sustainable, circular, and socially inclusive products and business models.
The event will explore various aspects of the ESPR, including updates on Digital Product Passports (DPP), Substances of Concern (SoC), and the ban on destroying unsold goods. There will also be a focus on both national and international relevant ecodesign standards.
The webinar has the objective of providing a clear overview on ESPR, its key components, green public procurement, ecodesign requirements, labelling, and the ban on destroying unsold goods. It is tailored especially for SMEs to receive guidance and insights on compliance and innovation in the field. The event will further include a practical action checklist for SMEs, an implementation timeline, and next steps concerning the ESPR.
Owners, product developers, suppliers, and compliance managers of EU-based SMEs in textile and fashion are welcome to join. Further information on the agenda and registration methods may be found here.
