Cedefop and the European Alliance for Apprenticeships are organising an online webinar on 1 July 2026 on the quality of apprenticeships in the EU. The session will present findings from Cedefop’s cross-country analysis and discuss how apprenticeship schemes can become more relevant, attractive and effective in responding to changing labour market needs.

Strengthening apprenticeships across Europe
Cedefop and the European Alliance for Apprenticeships are organising an online webinar on the quality of apprenticeships in the EU.
The session will bring together European and national experts, policymakers, researchers and apprenticeship stakeholders to discuss the strengths and challenges of apprenticeship schemes across Europe.
What the webinar will cover
Cedefop will present findings from its cross-country analysis of quality elements in EU apprenticeship schemes. The discussion will look at how national systems relate to selected criteria of the European Framework for Quality and Effective Apprenticeships.
Country examples will also show how European countries have introduced quality elements in the design and implementation of apprenticeship schemes.
Why it matters
Quality apprenticeships can help make vocational education and training more attractive, relevant and effective. They also support learners and workers in developing the skills and qualifications needed in changing labour markets.
The webinar will explore remaining gaps, areas of strength and possible ways forward for apprenticeship quality in Europe.
