The Calling2Scale Gunma – Gateway to Japan 2025 programme will connect European textile startups with Japanese corporates seeking sustainable solutions. Participants will benefit from market access training, mentoring, and the chance to develop pilots with local partners, providing a launchpad into Japan and the wider Asian market.

European smart textile startups are invited to apply for the Calling2Scale Gunma: Gateway to Japan 2025 programme, organised in collaboration with the Gunma Prefecture Governor’s Office (Japan) and EIT Global Outreach. The initiative aims to connect European innovators with Japanese corporates seeking sustainable textile solutions.
Programme benefits
Selected startups will gain access to:
Expert-led training on entering the Japanese market
A funded Immersion Lab in Gunma to develop pilots and proofs of concept with local partners
Tailored one-to-one mentoring by global industry experts
A launchpad into Japan and the wider Asian market, supported by Gunma Prefecture’s commitment to innovation
Strategic matching with corporates in Gunma such as Kuribara, Mitsubishi Pencil, and OKI
Focus on textile innovation
The textile track is coordinated by Gunma’s textile association and addresses two specific challenges, which are detailed on the programme website.
