Climate KIC is Europe’s leading independent climate innovation agency and community, working with cities, regions, businesses, governments and research organisations to accelerate the transition towards climate-resilient societies. Established in 2010 as one of the first Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), it became an independent public benefit foundation in 2025 while continuing to support climate action through innovation and collaboration.
Climate KIC brings together a diverse network of partners to develop and scale solutions that address climate change through place-based transformation, systems innovation and knowledge exchange. Its work spans climate entrepreneurship, learning programmes, innovation projects and collaborative initiatives that help bridge the gap between climate commitments and implementation. The organisation also supports stakeholders by mobilising finance, fostering partnerships and enabling the testing of innovative business models and policy approaches.
Through its global community and cross-sector partnerships, Climate KIC contributes to strengthening Europe’s innovation ecosystem while supporting sustainable competitiveness and climate resilience. By connecting public authorities, industry, academia and civil society, it helps accelerate systemic change and encourages collaboration on climate solutions across Europe and beyond.
