The European Commission announced the participation of Executive Vice-President Stéphane Séjourné and Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis at Hannover Messe 2026, where they highlighted priorities for Europe’s industrial future. The discussions focused on strengthening competitiveness, supporting innovation and ensuring Europe’s leadership in clean technologies within an evolving global economic landscape.
The event emphasised key policy areas including improving access to critical raw materials, reducing administrative burdens for businesses and enhancing the functioning of the Single Market. The Commission also highlighted ongoing work on initiatives such as the Industrial Accelerator Act, including potential “Made in Europe” requirements to boost domestic production. Engagements at the fair included keynote speeches, stakeholder discussions and exchanges with industry leaders and policymakers.
The participation of EU leaders at Hannover Messe underlines the EU’s broader efforts to reinforce industrial resilience, promote cross-border collaboration and accelerate the green and digital transition. The event also served as a platform to strengthen international cooperation, including partnerships on sustainable industry and raw materials.
