The EU-funded FRANCESCA project (Furniture Renewal and Alternative New Circular Efficiency Strategies through Creative Approaches) is inviting furniture companies and stakeholders to share their views on circular solutions for the sector. The initiative aims to support the transition of the European furniture industry towards more sustainable and circular practices by improving circular design approaches and business models.

To better understand the needs of the industry, the project has launched two surveys targeting furniture manufacturers and value-chain actors. The first focuses on identifying requirements for a circular design assessment tool that could support companies in developing furniture products with improved durability, repairability and recyclability. The second survey explores the adoption of circular business models within the sector, examining current practices, challenges and opportunities related to reuse, refurbishment and recycling. The feedback collected will help shape tools and solutions that reflect the real needs of companies working across the furniture value chain.

Stakeholders from the furniture industry are encouraged to participate in the surveys before 15 March 2026 and contribute their perspectives. Their input will help ensure that the project’s outcomes effectively support the sector’s shift towards circular production, use and end-of-life management of furniture products.

More information and access to the surveys are available on the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform website.
