The ALADIN project (Advanced LocAl and Digital Innovation Network for Circular Garments), launched in May 2026, is exploring new ways to accelerate the transition towards circular and regional textile and apparel production in Europe. By combining digital innovation, AI-enabled design tools, Digital Product Passports, and a network of interconnected local microfactories, ALADIN aims to enable more sustainable, on-demand and locally produced garments while strengthening European value chains.

As part of this work, the team involved in the ALADIN project, including the German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research Denkendorf (DITF), the European Textile and Clothing Business Labs Association (CEDECS-TCBL), Politecnico di Milano (Polimi), the Belgian Textile Research Centre (Centexbel), Reginnova NE Association, MITWILL Textiles Europe, VORN eG The Berlin Fashion Hub (VORN), NIL Textile s.r.o., Katty Fashion SRL and Steinbeis Innovation gGmbH (SIG), is collecting feedback on five circular garment concepts currently under development:

• a semi-automatically produced T-shirt;
• a smart modular children's parka;
• a smart family parka;
• a circular and modular blazer dress;
• climate-adaptive workwear.

Consumers, designers, manufacturers, brands, SMEs, researchers and all stakeholders interested in sustainable textiles are invited to complete our short survey.

Your feedback will help us better understand which features and characteristics are most relevant to end users, designers and producers, enabling us to refine these concepts and ensure they respond to real market and societal needs.
