Textile ETP participated in the Data Spaces Symposium 2026 in Brussels, where stakeholders from industry, policy and research explored the role of data spaces in enhancing transparency and traceability across value chains. The symposium brought together experts on digital infrastructure, standardisation and secure data exchange to discuss how shared data environments can support circular economy goals in textiles and beyond.
Representatives of the Textile ETP contributed to discussions on industrial data spaces, focusing on their importance for digital product passports, interoperability and cross-sector data governance. Participants shared insights on how data spaces could streamline access to product information, foster trust among stakeholders and facilitate traceability from design to disposal. Sessions also covered regulatory frameworks and technical enablers needed to support data sharing while maintaining privacy and commercial confidentiality.
The event reinforced the emerging role of data spaces as a foundational element for digital transformation and sustainable value chains, with applications not only in textiles but across manufacturing and service ecosystems. Textile ETP’s engagement highlighted the need for collaboration on standards, openness and innovation to unlock the full potential of digital ecosystems for traceability and circularity.
