On 29 April 2026, key stakeholders across the textile and fashion ecosystem will celebrate World Leather Day, a yearly occurrence to celebrate and support the leather industry. With this occasion, the not-for-profit industry association Leather Naturally is launching a new global campaign, ‘Make It Leather,’ to promote the material’s benefits and unique characteristics.

World Leather Day is an exceptional opportunity to drive discussions on the sustainability, versatility, and durability of this material, which plays a key role within the textile ecosystem. In fact, leather has an extensive lifespan and durability, promoting sustainable consumption and repairability initiatives. Furthermore, modern production aims to adopt advanced techniques of recycling and sustainable sourcing to support the circular economy.

As a part of its global call to action and on occasion of this international occurrence, Leather Naturally has provided free communication content and information guides on responsibility and sustainability within the sector. Its main goal is to debunk common myths and preconceptions on the industry, providing evidence-based information on the sector’s craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability.
