The Partnership for Sustainable Textiles and its members strive for responsible purchasing practices and the payment of living wages in the supply chain. From 2024 to 2025, the Partnership initiative ‘Living Wage Lab 2.0’ promoted the payment of living wages in the textile industry. Over the course of one and a half years, the project focused on collaborating with manufacturers and promoting social dialogue in three countries: Bangladesh, Pakistan and India. Capacity-building measures in selected factories aimed to empower textile workers to assert their rights. Data on wages was used to stimulate discussions with local stakeholders in buyer-supplier and multi-stakeholder dialogues. Furthermore, participating brands committed to developing individual living wage strategies and integrating living wages into their purchasing processes.
