In 2022, together with other brands, Zara co-founded the non-profit "Association for the Management of Textile Waste" with the aim of creating a Collective Extended Producer Responsibility Scheme (SCRAP, Spanish acronym) for textile and footwear waste in Spain. This organisation will enable the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility in Spain ahead of the transposition of the upcoming Waste Framework Directive review.
