Statistik Austria’s most recent figures reveal that during the summer season of 2023, Austria was home to a total of 67,263 accommodation establishments, offering 1,378,353 bed places. Tyrol province stood out with the largest number of establishments, accounting for 32.1% of the total and 30.0% of the overall bed capacity. When looking at the types of accommodations, the ones with the most capacity were the 5-/4-star establishments, which comprised 20.9% of all bed places in the country. For more detailed and historical data, Austria’s National Statistical Institute (NSI), Statistics Austria, offers free access to regularly updated statistical databases.
