In 2023, Latvia’s tourism sector encompassed 851 accommodation facilities, with 306 hotels and similar establishments marking a 4.7% decrease from 2019. Conversely, holiday and other short-stay accommodations saw an increase to 519, up by 2.3% compared to 2019, while camping grounds, RV parks, and trailer parks experienced a significant 36.8% growth, totaling 26. These establishments offered 41,364 bed-places and welcomed 2.4 million guests who spent a cumulative 4.4 million nights. Despite the fact that the number of arrivals and overnight stays in 2023 had not yet rebounded to pre-pandemic levels, the rise in the number of operational accommodation establishments compared to 2019 indicates a resilient and optimistic business sentiment. Comprehensive and up-to-date information on Latvia’s tourist accommodations from 2006 to 2023 is accessible through the National Statistical System of Latvia’s free statistical database, which allows for customized searches.
