Eurostat provides a comprehensive analysis of travel trends and economic ties between the EU and China. In its February 2018 publication, it reported that in 2016, EU residents had made approximately 2.1 million trips to China. At the same time, Chinese tourists played a vital role in the EU’s tourism industry, particularly through their spending.

The article explores key trends in tourist flows, spending patterns, and the broader economic impact of tourism on both regions. By examining these statistics, it sheds light on the evolving dynamics of tourism between the EU and China.
