According to Eurostat, the EU's net domestic energy use in 2022 was 58.8 million terajoules, marking a 4.2% decrease compared to 2021. Businesses and governments consumed 72.9% of this energy for economic activities, while households accounted for the remaining 27.1%. Manufacturing saw the largest drop in energy use (-8.5%), followed by electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (-5.2%).
