According to Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), accommodation establishments recorded 58.4 million overnight stays in July 2026, up 3.2% on July 2025, with domestic guests (47.7 million nights, +3.2%) and international guests (10.8 million nights, +3.2%) both contributing equally to the increase. For the January-July period, total overnight stays reached 282.1 million, up 0.9% year-on-year and 0.4% above the previous record for this period, set before the pandemic in 2019. Domestic guest nights rose 0.8% to 235.0 million over the seven months, while international guest nights grew slightly faster, up 1.0% to 47.1 million.
