In 2021, the primary reason for non-resident overnight trips to Latvia was visiting friends and relatives, accounting for 35.3% of all trips. This was followed by holidays, leisure, and recreation, which made up 25.1% of the trips. Norway had the highest percentage of tourists visiting Latvia for the purpose of visiting friends and relatives, with 84.2% of Norwegian visitors citing this as their main reason.
