According to Eurostat, the EU's high-speed rail lines reached 8,556 km in 2023, marking a 47.2% increase since 2013. Spain leads with 3,190 km, followed by France (2,748 km), Germany (1,163 km), and Italy (1,097 km). Meanwhile, the Czech Republic has the highest railway network density at 123.2 m/km², whereas Greece has the lowest at 14.0 m/km². This expansion facilitates seamless high-speed travel across the EU, enhancing connectivity and efficiency.
