In May 2024, Bulgarian residents made 808.3 thousand trips abroad, representing a 4.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The primary purposes of these trips were as guests and for other purposes (41.0% of all visits) and holiday and recreation (40.4%). Professional purposes accounted for only 18.6% of all visits to foreign destinations. Among the most popular countries for Bulgarian residents were Turkey (26.6% of all trips) and Greece (23.4%).
