The National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria announced that Bulgarian residents undertook 8.2 million journeys overseas in 2023, marking a 16.3% increase from 2019. The peak travel months for Bulgarians were July and August, accounting for 20.3% of the annual total. The top destinations were Turkey and Greece, which together made up half of all trips in 2023.
