In 2022, the EU Tourism Dashboard reported an average level of tourism seasonality among EU countries at 0.45%. Some countries are more vulnerable to demand shocks due to unbalanced concentrations of tourism activity throughout the year. For instance, Croatia (0.73%), Bulgaria (0.59%), and Italy (0.51%) experience higher seasonality. On the other hand, Finland (0.35%), Malta (0.36%), and Germany (0.37%) exhibit the lowest temporal concentration of tourism demand, indicating low seasonality. While most EU countries hover around the average level of seasonality, destinations with significantly larger values should consider strategies to mitigate potential negative impacts on socio-economic resilience.
