Ostbelgien Statistik has published new data on sports clubs and cultural associations in East Belgium, also known as the German-speaking Community of Belgium. According to the report, there were 256 sports clubs with over 23,000 members in 2023. In the same year, the region had 206 cultural associations, including music, theatre, choir, and carnival clubs, with a total membership exceeding 6,000. Approximately 59% of these cultural associations are located in the southern part of the community.
