The most recent figures from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office reveal that as of April 2024, there were 22,532 operational tourist units, with the majority being private accommodations, accounting for 63.2% of the total. This category is followed by boarding houses and hotels, making up 4.5% and 4.2% respectively. When compared to April 2023, there has been a 7.9% rise in the number of units, although the availability of bed-places has seen a 1.5% reduction. Notwithstanding the drop in bed-place capacity, the expansion in the number of units is attributed to the growth in the number of private accommodations and hotels. Detailed data is freely available from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office’s public statistical database, providing a valuable resource for anyone interested in exploring key tourism figures in Hungary.
