In 2024, Moldova recorded its highest number of overnight stays by non-residents in collective tourist accommodation since 2004, representing a 29.7% increase on pre-pandemic levels.

The National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova publishes data on overnight stays by non-residents in collective tourist accommodation establishments, categorised by country of origin, covering the period from 2004 to 2024. In 2024, non-residents recorded approximately 501,318 overnight stays in such establishments—the highest figure in the available dataset and a 29.7% increase compared to the pre-pandemic level of 386,392 overnight stays in 2019.

In 2014, the main source markets were Ukraine (35.3% of total overnight stays), Romania (19%), and the United States (5.9%).
