This webinar explored how tourism destinations can move from understanding climate risks to implementing effective climate mitigation actions. The discussion focused on two key dimensions of the green transition in tourism:
- the latest evidence and policy developments related to climate change and its impact on tourism destinations, and
- practical tools, methodologies, and approaches that can support destinations in reducing their climate impact and strengthening their resilience.
The webinar was moderated by Ralf Pastleitner, Head of TUI Group Corporate Office EU and Chair of the T4T Expert Group on the Green Transition, and featured contributions from Julie Berckmans, Climate Risk and Resilience Expert at the European Environment Agency (EEA), and Dr. Harald Buijtendijk, Senior Lecturer and Researcher at Breda University of Applied Sciences and representative of CELTH.
