Sustainable tourism can do more than create jobs — it can strengthen communities, protect ecosystems, and open opportunities for those often left behind. One key but underused lever is the connection between tourism and local food systems. 

The TUI Care Foundation’s Field to Fork programme builds these connections across Europe — in Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Spain and beyond — by equipping smallholder farmers, food producers, and entrepreneurs, including people with disabilities, to access tourism markets through training, certification, and integration into local supply chains. 

As the EU is developing its Tourism Strategy and is advancing the Farm to Fork Strategy and the Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas, join us for this discussion on how tourism can foster more inclusive and resilient food systems — and how targeted EU support can help scale these efforts.
