The COASTOUR project: https://eu-norddanmark.dk/about-coastour/  started in 2023 with the aim to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of European rural coastal tourism SMEs. Over the past two years, the project has brought together a wide range of activities, leading to the development of an interactive sustainability tool for tourism SMEs.

Hosted in Klaipėda with online participation, this final conference presents the outcomes and impact of the COASTOUR initiative and demonstrates practical routes for tourism SMEs to advance their green transition. Participants will hear from EU agencies, legal and policy experts, academics, and SME practitioners on certification standards, sustainability reporting (CSRD/ESRS/VSME), and funding opportunities. The programme features tool demonstrations, case studies from Denmark, Lithuania, Italy, Slovenia, and Portugal, and regional perspectives on EU investments and destination certification. Registration is mandatory and participation is free.
