The London Stock Exchange Group has released a report that assesses the impact of major climate hazards on global cities and highlights the urgent need for G20 countries to meet climate targets to mitigate these risks.

The COP29 Net Zero Atlas, published by the London Stock Exchange Group in November 2024, evaluates the potential impacts of four major climate hazards - floods, cyclones, heatwaves, and water stress - on 49 of the world's largest cities under both high and low emissions scenarios. The report emphasises the climate commitments and targets of G20 countries and examines their implications for climate outcomes. It reveals that nearly half of the world's major cities will face high risks from climate hazards by 2050 if high emissions continue.
