The fifth edition of the European Accommodation Barometer was conducted by Booking.com and Statista, surveying 1,160 executives and managers within Europe's travel accommodation sector.
The report, published in 2025, reveals a resilient industry with 63% of hoteliers anticipating improvement, indicating a strong sentiment despite regional economic challenges. Greece and Italy show more optimism, while France and Germany exhibit caution. High-performing hotels are typically larger chains that excel due to better access to technology and financing, while smaller establishments face recruitment challenges, particularly for specialist roles. Although AI and digital tools are increasingly significant, their adoption varies across the sector due to cost and integration issues. The findings underscore a robust hospitality sector, with ongoing needs for skill development and technological advancement.
