The European Travel Commission’s latest Monitoring Sentiment for Intra-European Travel report finds that 81% of Europeans intend to travel between June and November 2026, four percentage points more than a year earlier. Most respondents plan to travel within Europe, and 55% expect to take two or more holidays. Safety, weather and price are key decision factors, while rising travel costs, personal finances, geopolitical tensions and climate-related risks remain important concerns. The report also indicates continued demand for Southern and Mediterranean destinations alongside growing interest in lesser-known places and less crowded experiences. With 76% saying climate factors influence their travel behaviour, the findings offer useful insights for destination planning, seasonality management and adapting tourism offers to changing demand patterns.
