On April 22, 2026, the European Commission will host the inaugural technical dialogue in Copenhagen, marking a significant step towards transforming urban tourism across Europe. This dialog—part of the EU Agenda for Cities—will bring together city representatives and Commission services to identify best practices and reduce administrative hurdles in sustainable tourism.

Designed to enhance multi-level governance and foster more impactful EU policies at the local level, this pilot aims to address key policy questions integral to the forthcoming EU Strategy for Sustainable Tourism and the Urban Agenda's Partnership on Sustainable Tourism launched in 2023. This initiative emphasizes cities as pivotal partners, not merely beneficiaries, highlighting their role in executing shared European priorities.
