The EUROPARC Federation, a network dedicated to the conservation and sustainable management of Europe's natural and cultural heritage, has pledged to promote the engagement of tourism companies and SMEs in the "Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas - ECST" Programme through various initiatives. By 2026, the goals include having 100 ECST European Protected Areas with active tourism company involvement in the Forum, at least 10 tour operators becoming Sustainable Tourism Operators of the ECST, and organising the ECST Stars Competition every two years, among other objectives.
