What is the FACILITATE project?
FACILITATE is a European initiative designed to help tourism destinations and SMEs transition toward a greener, more digital, and data‑driven future. The project supports tourism actors—especially DMOs and SMEs—in building the skills and capabilities needed to participate in the European Tourism Data Space.
FACILITATE does this by providing:
- Practical, easy‑to‑use guidelines on data management and data sharing
- Tailor‑made training and capacity‑building across all types of destinations (urban, rural, coastal, maritime, etc.)
- Access to digital tools and resources that enable performance measurement, benchmarking, and informed decision‑making
- A collaborative framework that encourages tourism stakeholders to adopt a data-driven culture and translate sustainability goals into concrete, measurable actions
- Expert support and end‑user validated methodologies, backed by leading EU initiatives such as D3HUB and DEPLOYTOUR
By empowering tourism ecosystems to work with high-quality data, FACILITATE helps them collaborate more effectively, accelerate the green and digital transition, and strengthen their competitiveness.
