In a pioneering move, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) – EMOTUR Lab commits to transforming the tourism landscape in Spain and the Canary Islands through the digital transition. By 2025, the institution has already trained 419 tourism professionals, paving the way towards an innovative future. Between 2026 and 2028, their dedicated programmes will include advanced training sessions in AI, neurotourism, and digital skills, alongside extensive digital learning content and case studies.

The initiative, supported by a burgeoning network of over 450 industry Living Labs and 10 academic hubs, promises to foster collaboration between academia and tourism businesses, ensuring swift uptake of innovation across Europe. These efforts are strategically designed to strengthen digital competencies and amplify the sector's global competitiveness.
