In an ambitious stride towards sustainable growth, Scotland is updating its Rural Tourism Strategy to position agritourism at the heart of its economic transformation. The picturesque Highlands are pivotal in this movement, bridging tourism with local agriculture through experiences like berry-picking, farm tours, and cultural farm stays.
As part of the Scottish Agritourism 2030 Strategy, a new survey is inviting stakeholders to contribute information, aiming to elevate agritourism’s economic impact from £60 million to £250 million by 2030, while supporting nearly 10,000 jobs. This strategic shift, integrating international standards, not only enriches visitor experiences but also champions responsible and sustainable community practices in Scotland.
