On December 19, 2025, Fáilte Ireland, in collaboration with the Irish Government and the EU, announced a new wave of funding totaling over €5.5 million for 17 groundbreaking tourism projects across the Midlands. This latest investment is part of the Regenerative Tourism and Placemaking Scheme, boosting the region’s appeal through sustainable visitor experiences and low-carbon accommodations.
The initiative, which has seen a total of nearly €60 million funneled into the Midlands so far, promises economic rejuvenation and job creation while enhancing the region’s draw for both domestic and international tourists.
