In a significant move toward sustainable development, UN Tourism has unveiled its Road Map to the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism in 2027, with a strong focus on European engagement. Spearheaded by UN Tourism's Secretary-General Shaikha Al Nuwais, this initiative represents a pivotal shift from dialogue to tangible action across Europe.

Meeting in Madrid, the Committee on Tourism and Sustainability, along with European member states, is committed to positioning tourism as a transformative force within global agendas, especially post-2030. This collaborative effort will be guided by European nations, regional commissions, and an Executive Council, ensuring comprehensive involvement and effective delivery throughout the continent.
