According to Travel Tomorrow, Venice plans to introduce a EUR 10 entry fee for day-trippers beginning in April 2025. This new fee, which is double the previous amount, is designed to control the flow of tourists and alleviate overcrowding on 54 particularly busy days from April to July. This measure is part of Venice's broader strategy to foster sustainable tourism while preserving the city's cultural and historical heritage.
