The Stockholm's Climate Action Plan 2030, released by the City of Stockholm in December 2024, aims to achieve a rapid transition away from fossil fuels and addresses the full carbon footprint of the city. It includes measures to promote climate justice, ensuring that all residents benefit from the transition and that those who contribute the most to emissions take the greatest responsibility in reducing them.

The plan outlines five key transition areas: achieving a just, inclusive transition; developing a climate-positive energy system; encouraging sustainable, fossil-free transport; planning and building the city in a circular and sustainable way; and promoting consumption with a low climate impact. Within the transport sector, the plan targets an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from transport by 2030 compared to 2010 levels, and aims to establish a fully emission-free inner city.
