ENRICH-US is a transnational initiative under the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme that reimagines governance in rural tourism, fostering resilient, eco-cultural destinations through collaborative, participatory management.

Commencing in January 2026, ENRICH-US is a two-year project that shines as a beacon of transnational collaboration, steering the course for sustainable eco-cultural tourism in Central Europe's picturesque rural and peripheral regions. Funded under the prestigious Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme, ENRICH-US embarks on a mission to redesign the governance landscape, cultivating a participatory management ethos that breathes life into marginalized areas, making them vibrant destinations of choice.

At its core, ENRICH-US harnesses the collective strength of local and regional authorities, communities, and tourism actors. By employing innovative governance frameworks, the project empowers these stakeholders with the tools and collaborative platforms needed to navigate the dynamic terrain of sustainable tourism development. This initiative is not just about tourism; it’s a movement toward fostering resilient, culturally enriched destinations that thrive amidst adversity.

A hallmark of the project is its dedication to action-oriented solutions. ENRICH-US leads by example, implementing pilot actions that serve as living laboratories for testing practical management tools. These experimental settings provide invaluable insights into adaptive strategies that resonate with the local ethos while being scalable across the region. The project's efforts extend beyond immediate outcomes, nurturing a legacy of capacity building that sees institutions grow, knowledge shared, and innovations celebrated.

Central to ENRICH-US's philosophy is its unwavering commitment to inclusive decision-making. By strengthening stakeholder participation, the project ensures that diverse voices shape the tourism narrative, crafting a tapestry rich in cultural diversity and ecological integrity. Through this, ENRICH-US connects people, knowledge, and solutions, forging pathways that not only enhance tourism governance but redefine it for future generations.

As it journeys, ENRICH-US stands as a testament to the power of transnational collaboration. Communities across Central Europe witness the transformative impact of the project, paving the way for a sustainable tourism future—one where eco-cultural vibrancy is not just a goal, but a shared reality.
