The “Garden Pearls for All” initiative, funded by the Interreg VI-A Estonia–Latvia Programme 2021–2027, aims to address the lack of accessible tourism spots in the Estonia–Latvia border region for individuals with disabilities, limited mobility, and other special needs—including families, older people, and individuals with mental impairments.

Running from 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2026, the project seeks to develop a network of accessible gardens, parks, and nature sites; expand the range of inclusive garden tourism experiences; and promote sustainable tourism practices. In collaboration with accessibility experts and community organisations, the project will deliver several key outcomes:

  • A unified standard for accessible garden tourism development
  • An online platform showcasing accessible “Garden Pearls”
  • Training programmes for stakeholders in the garden tourism sector

In addition, the project will implement 13 pilot initiatives and 4 general investment activities to assess and enhance accessibility across the Garden Pearls network. Ultimately, it aims to set new benchmarks for inclusivity in public green spaces, enhancing their social and educational value.
