The projects receive €25,000 each and involve more than 40 tourism SMEs. They aim to map and develop over 29 new walking, cycling and eco-routes, improve the visibility of at least 150 sites and services, train more than 100 people and hold four business forums to encourage partnerships and shorter supply chains. The ideas include a bilingual digital platform with QR “digital concierge” points, eco wine routes with GPS navigation, smart cycling routes with bike rental, and a GIS mapping of the trail with a mobile app and a free CRM tool for local businesses.

The organisers identify a fragmented offer as the main challenge: individual services that struggle to reach international markets as one experience. Linking providers through shared digital tools, themes such as slow tourism, climate resilience, wine and gastronomy, and common routes is therefore the core of the approach, one that other walking and cycling regions can follow.
